1.1 Information Collected Automatically

  • Anonymous Device Identifier: We generate a unique, anonymous device-specific ID for authentication purposes. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information for your account.
  • Check-In Data: Timestamps of your daily check-ins, streak counts, and milestone achievements are stored to provide core app functionality.
  • App Usage Data: Basic usage analytics such as app opens, feature usage, and crash reports to help us improve the App.

1.2 Information You Provide Voluntarily

  • Trust Circle Contacts: Names, relationships, and phone numbers of emergency contacts you add to your Trust Circle. This data is stored securely and used solely for emergency notification purposes.
  • Voice Data: If you enable voice check-in, audio is processed on-device for speech recognition. We do not store, transmit, or retain any audio recordings.
  • Chat Messages: Messages sent to the AI companion (Alive Bot) are processed to generate responses. We do not use chat content for advertising or share it with third parties.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Provide and maintain the safety check-in service
  • Send reminders and escalation alerts when check-ins are missed
  • Notify your Trust Circle contacts in emergency situations
  • Track your streaks, milestones, and leaderboard position
  • Power the AI companion chat feature
  • Improve app performance and fix bugs

3. Data Storage & Security

  • All data is stored using Google Firebase, which provides industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest.
  • The App is designed with an offline-first architecture — your data is stored locally on your device and syncs to the cloud when a connection is available.
  • We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data only in the following cases:

  • Emergency Contacts: Your Trust Circle contacts will receive notifications (including your name/alias if provided) when a check-in is missed and escalation is triggered.
  • Service Providers: We use Google Firebase for backend infrastructure. Firebase processes data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority.

5. Permissions

The App may request the following device permissions:

  • Microphone: Required only if you enable voice check-in. Audio is processed on-device and is never stored or transmitted.
  • Speech Recognition (iOS): Used for voice command detection. Processing happens locally on your device.
  • Notifications: Used to send check-in reminders and escalation alerts.
  • Internet Access: Required for cloud sync, leaderboard, and Trust Circle notifications.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

7. Data Retention

  • Your data is retained as long as the App remains installed and your anonymous account is active.
  • You may request deletion of all your data at any time. See our Data Deletion page for instructions.
  • If your account is inactive for more than 12 months, we may automatically delete your data.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data

  • WhatsApp — Used for sending Trust Circle invitations (opens WhatsApp externally)

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
